MIVV has scored a prestigious result in the Grand Prix of Latvia, held this past week end on the Kegums track, not far from the capital city of Riga.

Its MX2 flagship rider Josè Butron, who has just resigned with Diga Racing Team for next year,  has produced two masterful displays to clinch a fantastic fifth spot overall at the end of two hard battled races. In Race 1 the Spaniard took the holeshot and has been leading the race for several laps. Josè has been able to fight back KTM factory riders Van Horebeek’s assaults apparently with no problems, until he had to give up a little bit and take the chequered flag in sixth.

Race 2 saw another blistering start form the Diga Racing’s rider, who jumped first out of the gate but got involved in a crash on the first turn, which forced him to slow down. He was tenth on lap 1, but put his head down and started to come back, ending the moto in seventh, which gave him the fifth overall spot.

Positive first outing for Davide Guarneri in MX1, who clinched 12th despite a less than good spot at the starting gate. The Italian had to give up in race 2 after a few laps, as he felt sick and didn’t want to take risks.
