It’s called KIT-MAX, and from today it’s available for sale. Consisting of the complete exhaust system + dedicated controller, thanks to the characteristics of the new SpeedEdge silencer it can be used both on the track and on the road.

Kit-Max is a system with unique features, with no other similar product currently on the market, dedicated to the extremely popular Yamaha maxi-scooter.

Available from now for the 2008 to 2011 models, it will soon also be available for 2012 ones.

The kit consists of the complete exhaust system + electronic controller replacing the original one.

It represents the latest road evolution, and has been extensively tested on the track in collaboration with the La Greca team of Milan during the National Maxi-Scooter Trophy, with the objective of developing a kit with unique characteristics.

And such objective has been reached: the performance, measured on the bench and on the track, is excellent.

But the most extraordinary success of MIVV’s R&D has been being able to match the performance with the requirements for road circulation homologation.

Below is a detailed analysis of the MIVV KIT-MAX concept:

1) Technical/construction elements

• New SpeedEdge exhaust system in stainless steel with carbon cup. Carbon fastening strap. Removable dB-killer for a real track system.
• Bushed connections obtained from solid material on manifolds and silencer.
• Collectors with several conical shapes for maximum torque and power.
• Compensator fitted on the primary manifolds (result of the experience on the 4x1 maxi-sports models)


2) Electronic controller

• The MIVV controller included in the KIT-MAX replaces the original one. But this is only for the management of the engine.
Safety, instrumentation, and all the rest are still dealt with by the original controller to avoid error messages or malfunctioning.
• The MIVV controller gives most of all the possibility of eliminating carburation problems that inevitably occur when replacing the original system with a full after-market system with increased diameters.
This gives better performance, particularly during acceleration from start and during pick-up.
• In short, the exhaust system by itself offers great performance. .
But as it can be seen from the bench curves, the electronic controller re-establishes correct carburation, levels the initial subsidence, enables a slight increase on the whole curve when compared with the exhaust alone, and lastly offers 300 more revolutions, increasing over-revving.  All this, without any consequences for the engine.

3) Data/curves

• The curves speak for themselves. It is however important to highlight the maximum deviation obtained in the various configurations: homologated or racing (with the dB-killer removed), with or without controller.  It is in fact possible to obtain a deviation of +10hp power in the open version with controller, and +8.4nm torque. Both obtained at a maximum revolution regime (after which it can no longer be compared with the original, which cannot go beyond).
This gives the idea of the maximum speed that can be obtained with the MIVV KIT-MAX.
• Last but not least is the weight, which is practically halved: 8.2 kg of the original system, against the just over 4 kg of the MIVV system.


4) Performance and compliance with the standards

For the most sporty scooter in circulation the objective was to create an exhaust providing the maximum match of performance and homologation.  For this reason it was developed through tests made both on the track and on the road.
The electronic controller, purposely built and with dedicated mapping, is just the icing on the cake.  An important value added to the high performances, which can be reached with the exhaust alone.
The result is a kit that has no equals on the market, the top in terms of torque and power, with a full and captivating sound without excessive noise. The tests carried out show in fact a value of 89dB, against 88dB of the original: perfectly normal, in spite of a much more pleasant pitch.


5) Holding and resistance

Considering that T-Max is a two-cylinder with a very strong spurting, subjected to important oscillations, after-market exhaust systems are always subjected to extremely important physical stress.
The SpeedEdge silencer has passed the extreme  road tests with flying colours. Therefore, in addition to system performance, there is also the guarantee of important holding and resistance.


6) Price and availability

KIT-MAX is sold to the public at a price of € 1.250,00 + VAT, and is already available through MIVV authorised dealers.
