MOTO2 -SEPANG GP
The Sepang race demanded too high a tribute to the motorcycling world. In such sad moments, it becomes very difficult to tell you about the performances of our Moto2 pilots, but our duty to you means that we have to spend at least a few words on each of them.
POL ESPARGARÒ AND VALENTINE DEBISE - SPEED UP/HP TUENTI SPEED UP TEAM
Things are still on the up in this 2011 season for Pol Espargaró, who conquered a well deserved third place during the Sepang race. The 20 year old pilot from Granollers in Spain was fast during the qualifying, even better than Sunday morning’s warm up. His FTR was well prepared by the Speed Up team mechanics, also thanks to the support of MIVV, who, as you know, supplies the full exhaust systems for the motorbikes. Starting from 5th place on the grid, he had a real possibility of getting to the podium, which he successfully did, although it was not easy. In fact, among his direct competitors, this time was also his brother Aleix, who in the end he was able to beat. When the race was stopped, Pol was in third place, which gave him the place on the podium. Pol Espargaró is currently in 12th place in the general standings, with 73 points.
Such a shame: The Sepang track is one of the favourites for the HP Tuenti team pilot, whose motorbike is equipped with a full MIVV exhaust system. He was able to obtain 24th place on the starting grid, and this gave good hopes for the competition. But half way through the race the young French pilot was involved in a fall, and was therefore unable to finish. Two falls during the last two races are hard to swallow; now, the hope is that during the last appointment of the season, which will be in Valencia, Debise will be able to show what he is made of. Valentin is yet to gain any points for the general standings.
CLAUDIO CORTI AND ROBERTINO PIETRI – ITALTRANS TEAM
The last Phillip Island GP had brought a 4th position, points and high moral to the pilot from Como of the Italtrans team, which motorbikes are equipped with an exhaust system designed and produced by MIVV. He wanted a repeat performance, and this could have certainly been the case, looking at the good qualifying sessions, which he completed in eight place. But unfortunately, half way through the race a contact with another pilot caused Corti to fall, luckily without any consequences for both, which put an end to his day. We look forward to a high level performance in Valencia, during the last appointment of this season. At the moment, with 22 points gained, Corti is in 24th place in the general standings.
The second pilot of the Italtrans team arrived here after a fall in Australia, and his objective was to end the race without other consequences. And this is just what happened. Starting from 24th place, he crossed the finishing line 22nd. The gran finale of Valencia now waits for him, so that he can give a top performance. The desire is to bring home some points at least during the last race. So far Robertino has not yet obtained any points in the general standings.
SANTIAGO HERNANDEZ – TEAM SAG
The Colombian pilot from the Thai Honda Singha Sag team, for which motorbikes MIVV supplies the full exhaust system, experienced a fall ten laps from the end, which prevented him from finishing the race. During the qualifying he had managed to obtain 26th place on the starting grid. He is yet to gain any points for the general standings.
