MOTO2 - VALENCIA GP
POL ESPARGARÒ AND VALENTINE DEBISE - SPEED UP/HP TUENTI SPEED UP TEAM
For the 20 year old Spaniard from Granollers, the 2011 season ends with points during the final race of Valencia. Not the desired position though, as a 14th place is not in line with his talent or the good results obtained lately. But it was a very peculiar race, with a tarmac made slippery by the light but persistent rain, which forced all pilots to change their plans. Pol’s FTR proved fast and well tuned by the Speed Up team, also thanks to the full exhaust system supplied by MIVV: he managed in fact the second fastest time of the day, with 1'39.982. Pol Espargaró therefore ends the season with a 13th place and 75 points. A good result, if we consider how crowded Moto2 is.
Three falls in the last three races are difficult to swallow for any pilot. But it can happen. Debise this time was betrayed by the tarmac, made slippery by the light rain that lasted during the whole race in Valencia, preventing the HP Tuenti team pilot, whose bike is equipped with a full MIVV exhaust system, from finishing the championship with a better result. We hope that the experience will help the young pilot to grow in preparation for next year.
CLAUDIO CORTI AND ROBERTINO PIETRI – ITALTRANS TEAM
The uncertain conditions of the slippery Spanish tarmac did not stop Claudio from shining during the last race of the 2011 Moto2 season: the pilot from Como completed the 26 laps without mistakes, recovering several positions and finishing in 15th place, which gave him 1 point in the standings. MIVV, who equipped the motorbikes of the Italtrans team with purposely designed and produced exhaust systems, wants to wish Corti a wonderful future sports career with a more starring role. Corti completes the 2011 season in 25th place with 23 points gained.
The second pilot of the Italtrans team, which motorbikes are equipped with MIVV exhaust system, concludes his experience in the 2011 Moto2 season with a 24th place, a good recovery compared with the 33rd place obtained on the starting grid, which proves the increased experience of the young pilot from Venezuela, also in difficult weather conditions like the ones of the Spanish race track. Improving the bike's fine tuning times during the qualifying is the objective of Petri and the team for next year.
RATTHAPARK WILAIROT AND SANTIAGO HERNANDEZ – SAG TEAM
Such a shame that, at the very last race of the season, when each pilot wants to give 100%, the second motorbike of the Thai Honda Singha Sag team had to suffer an electric problem, and give up just a few laps from the end. Wilairot was therefore unable to complete the race, in spite of being able to recover some positions compared with the disappointing 36th place on the starting grid. The Thai pilot completes the championship in 30th place on the standings, with 4 points.
The Colombian pilot of the Thai Honda Singha Sag team, of which MIVV is the technical partner, completed the difficult race in Valencia in 22nd place, 9 positions better than his placing on the starting grid. The humid tarmac was certainly not an advantage, but in these conditions it was very easy to make mistakes and fall, which did not happen to “Santi”, who, on the contrary, was able to give an intelligent performance, without errors. Also he must find the best setup during the qualifying, so that he may start from a better place on the grid in the future.
