MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Rain and mud have made things complicated for the top riders attending the ninth round of the Motocross World Championship, held on the beautiful track of Uddevalla, Sweden.

Despite the bad weather conditions, which made the track particularly tricky and slippery, MIVV’s flagship riders have made it to conquer good results.

In MX2, Josè Butron was involved in a bad crash on Saturday’s qualifying, which left him with a sore ankle and back. Given the green light to race on Sunday, the Spaniard had to start from the very last spot at the gate.Butron clinched his teeth and came back to fifteenth in Race 1, but it was in the final outing that the Diga Racing’s rider produced a strong performance, which rewarded him with ninth spot as the chequered flag was waved.

In MX1 a DNF in Race 1 vanished the chances of a top ten overall finish for Davide Guarneri: the Silver Action’s Team rider was circulating around tenth spot as he crashed heavily in the whoops section, as a result of which his handlebar broke, forcing the Italian to the pits.

Things were better in race 2, where Guarneri took a decent start and kept his rhythm to clinch tenth at the end of the race.
